My law of Music

Music is my moral law,it gives soul to my Universe, graces me with all charm. Its everything to me. Listening to music leads me to dancing but i have to be careful as it disengages me from the entire world.

i am writing this because i am
just done with downloading all the songs from debut non-film Hindi pop album
named.. Tuhi mere Rab ki Tarah hai(wish it was named Tuhi mera rab hai) by Mithoon composer and singer, lyricist Sayeed Quadri one of my favourite.
The song Mujhe Ishq de,the soulful song has bowled me.Its a Complete song lyrics simply superb its absolutely well done, i love it in fact its making me drunk...Nasha chah jaata hai... this song has a sufi feeling as the song has urdu phrases in fact all the songs. The other songs i loved are "Kuch dard" and "Ashiqui Ashiqui".

Its not a greaaaaaaaaaaaaaat album as the music becomes monotonous reminding me of the similarity with the playback singing and composing he did in movies Anwar, the train, Zeher and Bas Ek Pal.

Mithoon traveled to UK to record this album and has picked international musicians to play the harp, saxophone and guitars.

You can download the songs http://www.songs.pk/tuhi_mere_rab_ki_tarha_hai_mithoon.html

Oscaring the Slumdog Millionaire..Jai Ho

While talking to my dear friend Rohan on the mobile ,he was mentioning the Oscar Awards, I was already late to watch the Oscar awards show, by the time the TV was switched on, Slumdog had already won two Oscars by then as i continued watching there was no stopping i was clapping so hard as the other awards were declared for Slumdog, that all my neighbours must have surely left all their work and sat glued to the TV. Well i was sure about atleast four awards for slumdog thanks to the notorious leaked Winners, Economic Times was already mentioning. It had 10 nominations competing with a whopping 13 nominations for The curious case of Benjamin Button.
I don't know but i was on some kind of a thrilling sensation and praying to God before Steven Spielberg announced the winner's name for the best movie,i announced to my family who were watching too, that if Slumdog gets this award too,the crown, i would change my life... my husband remarked to the kids looks like your Mamaa won't cook for us anymore...Phew.. i wanted to watch the movie again on the PC.

Well the movie will let you do some soul searching.
Danny Boyle nails his dismount.. the movie is utterly cinematic and mind blowing music.(Well A R Rahman has always given the best of his work for all his endeavours) For all those people especially Mumbaikars who opposed the film some criticised it as poverty porn even I did not expect Mr A.Bachchan to make any comments whatsoever even though he has not slammed to the extent media made a hype about it.May be because a proxy Bachchan himself features in the movie played by Feroz Abbas Khan or was it because he was the original host of the Indian version of KBC (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?)a show that resurrected his career. However, another bollywood star Anil Kapoor steals his thunder with a remarkable performance as the creepy host of the game show in Slumdog. Anyway slumdog is not about poverty you criticised about dear Mr.Bachchan its even about millions. And the crime, the corrupt police, the filth prostitution, communal riots, the inhuman conditions in the slums, the garbage heaps, beggar gangs, the life of street children and more so Love...Boyle has not exaggerated anything he has simply told the truth, although in the way of film directors - dramatically! telling it all in the time of 121 minutes. When Shekhar Kapur made ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’ - it’s a great thing. So why criticise when Danny boyles makes a movie here. Moreover your own dearest Bahu Ash has worked in international movies. The very name of the movie Slumdog millionaire is expected to be about slums not about Karan Johar types.
The big B had realised that he had put his foot in his mouth and has tried to rectify, well he did not take his words back as the media said he only simply explained what he meant..anyway whatever you commented and meant Mr.Bachchan you only know so i give him only the benefit of the doubt...lol. Hey not that i have anything against The big B.. I respect him and admire for all the test of time he has gone through. Lo! this is my big problem i was supposed to be telling about The Oscar awards and me...

It was nice when Dev Patel and Freida Pinto were called to present the award for best foreign language film.Dev Patel and Freida pinto i love you,Freida more so as if she is my very own.I loved the royal blue colour dress by John Galliano she chose to wear but i hated the design of the one shouldered gown ...girl made you look like a left handed Shaheensha....
i am an eternal romantic as i was watched the movie again it tugged at my heart strings and it was so wonderful to see this boy hang on to the love of his life in the movie, reminded me of serendipity too where love happens to be just one aspect.Danny Boyleji ap vapas India mien aajayiye please..and make more movies:)

PS:By the way did you people notice the clock in Railway Station in the song Jai Ho? The clock shows 00:58:02 when the song starts and is in sync with the time of the song. When the song ends, it shows 00:00:56.Well there are a few takers for perfect perfection Like Mani Ratnam Ji. I liked Sean Penn's speech when he got the best actor award but wish he did not involve politics. In accepting the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay,Dustin Lance Black expressed views that were blatantly political too.Kate Winslet i am so happy you deserved the Oscar too.I loved seeing Meryl Streep.
Worth mentioning is Resul Pookutty(i had never heard of him before) who won for Sound Mixing and liked what he said for his acceptance speech.. This is unbelievable. We can't believe this. Ladies and gentlemen...sorry...I share the stage with two magicians, you know, who created the very ordinary sounds of Bombay, the cacophony of Bombay, into a soul-stirring, artful resonance called Slumdog Millionaire.I come from a country and a civilization that given the universal word. That word is preceded by silence, followed by more silence. That word is "Om." So I dedicate this award to my country. Thank you, Academy, this is not just a sound award, this is history being handed over to me. My sincere and deepest gratitude to my teachers, Danny Boyle, Christian Colson, Paul Ritchie, Pravesh... and everybody who has contributed to this film, Glenn Freemantle and all the sound mixers. I dedicate this to you guys. Thank you, Academy. Thank you very much.

I was in awe when A. R. Rahman performed on stage with the beautiful Indian dance,he took two Oscars.
I shall be learning the lyrics and singing Jai Ho for this week.

Note:"Slumdog" collected awards for best direction, cinematography, adapted screenplay, original score, original song, editing and sound mixing and best picture for producer Christian Colson. Film that was made for only $15 million, with a cast of unknowns and a script with a third of its dialogue in Hindi.Slumdog was the film that came out of nowhere (last summer there was even talk of releasing it straight on to DVD).

The icing on the cake giving more reasons to celebrate was a 39 minutes India based documentary about nine year old who was luck, Pinki's journey from being ostracised to being treated like a normal girl after a social worker helped her undergo surgery for her cleft lip.Pinki is from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur Dabai village,Mirzapur district,i am proud as this village is on the international map. It will also make a big difference to the millions of other children born with the lip deformity and Parents who cannot afford the surgery at all.

Now i am sorry for too much of rambling.
Ye this is my first write up where i have spoken so much, now before i get arthritis of the fingers..Lol:) i stop here.

Be good keep smiling and smiling....and smiling ,choose love and not hate, Jai Ho
smile away.

Alfie Patten is father at 13

Teenage pregnancy is common now a days but yet it alarms me.Its all over the newspapers worldwide, media is a bigger culprit now imagine the children and their parents are making bucks on this news..UK’s expensive sex education programme and their silly laws have become the joke of the month.

youngsters believe that sexual liberation has been a great victory. It is true that it has been a great victory against the hypocrisy and narrow-mindedness that has prevailed over the centuries but has that resolved the problem of sexuality? In fact the doors are open to every possible physical and psychic disorder, the problem is not solved by recommending the use of contraceptives or legalizing abortion. I was so shocked to read when the Indian Government had taken initiatives after an alarming report so installed condom machines. It is therefore not a question of sanctioning or prohibiting but of studying, educating and understanding. The sexual force is thousands of years old. It is impossible to fight it but that is no reason to be enslaved by it. This happens because of some bizarre limitations and confinements of spiritual growth.
Life is to be lived in its true spirit . Human beings must come to understand that methods exist to channel this force to direct it, so that it may contribute to character, moral and spiritual development of humankind. Having sought and received these explanations, it is then up to every individual to think and decide what they want to do.

The Alchemy

If you want to become an alchemist,It is in everyday life that you have the opportunity to do an alchemical work. Try to transform everything instead of complaining about someone hurting you! Tell yourself that these are like rocks being thrown at you, and that this raw material can be transformed into precious stones. So many rocks have been thrown at great masters and initiates. They worked on the rocks that had been thrown at them, transforming them into treasures for us. This is true alchemy. If the earth can transform raw material into precious stones, so can we! A human being possesses all forces and powers; even the philosopher's stone.

Our mind is lake a garden, which we can cultivate intelligently or allow to run wild. Whether cared for or neglected, the garden will grow. If no useful seeds are planted, many undesirable ones will fall into the fertile ground & weeds will take root.
Just as gardeners cultivate their plots, keeping them free of weeds & thorns & growing the flowers & fruits they desire, we can tend to the garden of our own mind. We can uproot all our negative, useless beliefs & consciously nurture powerful, positive thoughts instead. We are after all the master gardener of our soul & the director of our life.

Why do you think that Jesus so often used the image of the sower in his parables?

Mystically thinking

The foods we eat every day obviously contain life, but they don’t yet possess the spirit. So when we eat, concentrate on the food so that our spirit participates in this act. On eating the food, the spirit impregnates our own matter which it transforms, enlightens and regenerates .

Every human being who becomes aware of this cosmic energy with the universe begins to feel the need to cultivate his inner life in order to rediscover within himself  that cosmic plenitude.

True Alchemy does not consist in the spectacular transmutation of base metals into gold, but in the spiritual transmutation of man's own matter. Caterpillars are metamorphosed into butterflies; galvanization transforms a drab piece of base metal into a golden ornament... All these different ways of transforming things are familiar to us but we have never studied them sufficiently closely to realize that they contain the secret of our own inner metamorphosis. If a tree, for instance, is capable of transforming the raw mineral nutrients it draws from the soil into the sugar sap which enables it to produce flowers and fruits, why should man not do likewise ? Why should we not be capable of transforming the raw juices of our instincts and passions so that they produce a rich harvest of flowers and fruit, in the form love, care and joy in our hearts and understanding and wisdom in our minds, thus being useful to mankind.

Two thousand years ago, the coming of Jesus introduced a new order of things where, for the first time in human history, the values of love, goodness, forgiveness, patience, gentleness, humility and sacrifice were put in first place, even if Jesus’ words have not yet been either completely understood or practiced, atleast many beings have received this light for it to be passed down through the centuries. The most important thing for us should be we work together for the good of humanity: the efforts we make to manifest divine love.

The Gospels can be understood and interpreted in the light of alchemical science.since the Middle Ages alchemy has profoundly permeated Christian mysticism and esotericism(christian mysticism)

Be good keep smiling:)

My BEATITUDES

Blessed are they; who tolerate my mood.
Blessed are they; who understand what i say.
Blessed are they; who make time and talk for awhile.
Blessed are they; that never tell me you told me about this before.
Blessed are they; who realise that my wits are too slow to understand.
Blessed are they; who know that my innocence has nothing to do with age.
Blessed are they; who are kind and loving for they always know the best of life.
